Since a few weeks, there is some commotion
in Belgium concerning the sexistic remarks males (especially allochtone moslim
males) make towards women when walking in Brussels on high heels or with a
miniskirt. I don’t want to minimalise the problem, but I must say that in My
opinion, it has little to do with a miniskirt or high heels. Indeed just walk
the streets in a riding outfit and watch the reactions of the males in the
street! You’d be surprised, how many heads turn in your direction, staring. I
think it has less to do with mini-clothes or showing bare skin or legs or so.
No, I think it is purely sensuality and sex-appeal, and that can be as well
with heavy riding boots as with high heeled pumps and fishnet stockings. The
difference probably is that a confident woman in high boots will be far less
intimidated by staring or whistling males than a tiny girl in miniskirt having
her fragile (leg) skin exposed. Anyway, no male should do something that makes
a woman feel bad! And therefore I think these stupid males should be punished! (see
also the message I send to this blog on 3/10/2009), but personally, I don’t
care if someone stares or whistles at Me as long as the golden principle
remains “look but don’t touch”!!!!
Last week, when I walked together with
Myriam from our jeep towards a manege in the Ardennes we got appraising remarks
on our looks and outfit from at least two different men! And that was only in a
few minutes time! (parking place was a few hundreds of meters from the manege).
We were just casually dressed. Something as in the picture. Nothing special, no
high heels, no miniskirt!

ReplyDeleteThe men's brain is programmed in such a way naturally that a pretty half naked women should interest them. The fewer dresses are more stimulant for all men (hot pants, bikini etc.), when he is not completely gay but they are fortunately only few people some percentages.
There are many men who get excited by the sight of the female strength. The strength and the power radiate from the riding outfit in the same way as from uniformed policewoman. Rather many people belong to this group from among the men but they whistle onto the women never they admire this sight with pleasure only.
The attractive women in bikini are equivalent to a future prey to “dom men” the whistling expresses this. They are looking at the strength radiant ladies amazedly have no idea to give a whistle.
More women wear a bikini however, than uniform or riding outfit this gives the difference.

ReplyDeleteI think when a lady walks with a lot of confidence the lady in question has a lot of sex appeal, and you have both quite clearly gone to the trouble of dressing up smartly for your day and that is always duly noted. Lastly, those shiny black boots that you are wearing are a rarity in the summer months and I can imagine they would stir a lot of submissive thoughts in males.

jon is right. I saw summer uniforms with open-toed sandals for ladies already but I did not hear about female summer riding dresses yet.
