"Safewords"?????

Yesterday,  I had a little discussion online with a Domme the use of so called “safewords”.

She claimed that it was unsafe and irresponsible not to use one. I absolutely disagreed since I think it is contradictory to the idea of slavery itself! It is only “invented” to give the slave a tool to have final control! And thus absolutely not appropriate in a Mistress-slave-relation!

slaves and professional Dommes call it a “safeword”, but I’d call it a “stopword”.

And, in My opinion, a slave should not decide when his punishment has to stop! That is the Mistress’ prerogative!

I know and understand that professional Dommes make use of it, but in a real lifestyle Mistress-slave-relation it is a contradiction. It is like limiting speed in a F1 car race!

How can I punish My slaves when they can put and end to it at all times? When they can stop it whenever pleasure (they are subs!) turns into discomfort or burden? Do We really want to give control to our slaves?????? Of course We don’t !!!!

I wonder how you, the readers of My blog, see this.

P.S. I will ask My Domme Friends about this as well at Our next meeting. I am curious what they think of it.

  1. I agree. Safewords may be fine in a "play session" but when you are in a lifestyle situation they don't make any sense. The slave needs to decide if he has trust in his mistress before entering into the mistress/slave relationship. Afterwards it's entirely her prerogative.

  2. Sorry for disagreeing with you, I think one should always use a safe word. Reasons:

    1. I cherish your rigidity, but legally, you don't own the salve. People are no property. Slavery is banned in our society.

    2. As such, you are responsible for the well-being of you slave. If you hurt, harm, injure or kill your slave, you are liable if your slave doesn't agree. In same cases, e.g. killing, it doesn't even matter if he agreed.

    3. Not recognising any signal of your slave that he doesn't agree anymore means you cannot know if he consenting. With a safeword you can say that the slave could always have revoked is consent and therefore agreed until then. Without, you will go to jail.

    4. There are injury symptoms your slave can feel but you cannot see: broken rib/bones, heart attack, circulatory collapse, suffocation, etc. So if you do not want to accidentally kill you slave, agree on how he can signal he doesn't feel healthy.

Hence just out of your own interests, use a stop-/safeword.

    1. This is the typical reaction or standpoint of a fetishist.

your first reason also is rubbish: don’t call yourself a “slave”. It is hypocritical to consider yourself a slave but at the same time say that your Mistress does not own you! So only a “slave” when it suits you?

I agree with your second reason. I indeed feel responsible for My slaves and never have the intention of really damaging them. But who is talking about killing?????? As if people get killed when they don’t use a stopword……

I disagree with your third again: you really think I don’t recognize a slave’s limits???? you obviously haven’t see yet the cries, beggings, and screaming of a slave over his limits! I do not need a stopword to recognize that!

And the same goes for your fourth reason: he can easily say that he is not feeling well, that I broke a rib or hand, or…. And of course I will stop in that case!
And again you are mentioning killing????? Must be that you have no experience at all.

I am living My live as a Dominant for more that 15 years without a stopword and never got problems with that. Never came near “killing” someone.
But, My slaves obey, serve and worship Me 100% and indeed put their lives in My hands. they know and trust Me and (at least for the slaves that are actually with Me)!
And boy, they are free to go! But strangely they stay! Living their life as real slaves without a stopword. I guess you call them crazy.

If a slave asks for a stopword, it simply means that he does not trust his Mistress and that he does not dare to put his life in Her hands.
I am not the kind of Mistress that whips and punishes her slaves all the time, but One who demands respect, obedience and submissivity and if one fails in this, I can be real hard, but those that perform according My wishes and demands are safe with Me (apart from “encouraging” whippings and so of course).
you seem to forget that all My slaves are (and were) prepared to live this way. It always was and is their own choice! Don’t call yourself “slave” when you only are interested in your own pleasure. To Me this looks like a fetishist who’d better go to a professional Domme instead of critisizing real lifestyle Mistresses! They will exactly do what you like and stop whenever you want.

  4. There is a difference between a game and a real punishment. The slave is not supposed to stop a punishment when he do not like it anymore. Nevertheless if there is a stopword in a Dom/sub relationship, it can only be used once. Using it by the salve would end the relation ship - for ever.
